Recommended To Others. September 27, 2026. By David M. (Rating: 5). Overall, I'd recommend this vehicle highly to others. The colour and style of all the windows make it easy to notice the difference between it and the darkish colour of most modern vehicles today.

September 24, 2026. By Steve R. (Rating: 5). The best car on the road. I'm not looking to be pushed around in to the bargain bin.

Is the Ford Focus automatic any good?

The Ford Focus ST offers a choice between a six-speed automatic and a six-speed manual. So, what is it like? Introduction. The Ford Focus has proved to be a hugely successful model over the years. The original Focus started life in 2026 as a much larger car with a far more complicated setup. It was then brought down into a smaller package with the introduction of the Focus Active in 2026. The Focus went on to be a major seller for Ford, selling 6.1 million vehicles over the last decade.

The new Focus is now a five-door hatchback. It comes in three trim levels - Energi, ST and Titanium - with a choice between manual or automatic transmission. We've had a chance to take one of the top two trims for a test drive so we've taken a look at what it's like to drive.

What's it like? There are a few things that you need to know before we start talking about the car. The first is that the ST is the fastest Focus. Not only does it come with the six-speed manual gearbox but it also has bigger, firmer tyres that really put the power down. The Energi is the second fastest and it's only available with an automatic transmission. The third and final version, the Titanium, is the slowest and comes with a cheaper engine. It's also the most expensive of the three so even though it's quite cheap to buy, it costs 30,000.

However, despite its bulk and cost, the Ford Focus ST feels nimble and responsive to drive. This is in part because of the extra power from its 1.6-litre petrol engine, which also produces 190bhp. If you prefer a more relaxed drive, you could also choose the EcoBoost Focus RS that comes with a 2.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine and produces 300bhp.

At its heart, the Focus is a compact hatchback. There is no load area behind the driver. Instead, there's a single row of seats in the front and a boot for your daily commute. The hatch design means you can easily slide the seat all the way back to get in, but you can't get out if you have the passenger seat in the upright position.

Is the 2018 Ford Focus a good car?

ford focus 2018 price uk automatic petrol Is the 2018 Ford Focus a good car?

The 2026 Ford Focus is a good car. It's also a small car. Not as small as the Mazda 3 and the Chevy Cruze, but it fits comfortably in most urban driveways. It's the best looking car that's smaller than the Mazda 3 and it's better on the road. You'll never know you're driving a Focus. If you want a little hatchback with a lot of room for four, the Focus is your car.

And the Focus hatchback has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that's good enough to get up to 62 mph in just 9.4 seconds, and we love that. Ford's Blue Oval makes more power and torque than the Mazda 3 and Chevy Cruze. At 174 horsepower, the Focus beats both of its rivals in the performance department. It's also available with an EcoBoost engine that makes 184 hp, and in the right conditions, it'll outgun both the 3 and Cruze.

You can also spec it with an optional all-wheel-drive system, which makes it even better on the road. The Focus is still small and light. Its curb weight is under 2,200 pounds. But the Focus will take corners flat and fast. A driver doesn't have to work hard to get from 0 to 60 mph.

And that's really what a small hatchback is supposed to be like. Small, with decent performance and a sporty feel that's just a little bit too much fun for this particular car. In the Focus, that feeling of being able to outrun anything on the road.

The interior is comfortable for four people, with decent room for four passengers, and it has excellent materials. The front seats aren't comfortable, but the rear seats are. And they're very comfortable, which means they'll last for many years.

The Ford's fuel economy is above average. An automatic transmission Focus gets 23 miles per gallon on the highway and 24 mpg city. It's more economical than the Mazda 3 and Cruze, and it's good enough to give those cars a run for their money in fuel economy.

The car's design is very easy on the eyes. The lines are clean and there's very little wasted space.
