How long is car supermarket warranty?
How long is car supermarket warranty?
My parents car is a 2.0 engine with 15000 miles and has a car supermarket warranty of 24 months from new from the moment they buy it - can anyone tell me how long this is good for? Because I bought them a van last christmas instead of a car but since I have just moved house my parents said I can take the van back and give them their car.
I would say that there's no way you can take it back in that time - because if you do so, the Car Supermarket would want a receipt saying what kind of car it was before you claimed that they still owned it and had no legal right to any sort of compensation. It will be at least 30 days (7 working days) to receive the car at the Car Supermarket depot in Basingstoke. I've just taken a van back but with the car shop that I'm going to the one which is in Mancunie in Hampshire and I need to get them at the factory on Monday morning.
The manufacturer may allow up to 1 month for the car to be returned to them - but as a new car with no damage what's likely to be the case? They may want the keys back as well as all the paperwork in an envelope. However, if you return your van they'll see the title, you'll get a receipt, you'll get 25 Pounds on top and the car won't be left sitting in a car park.
You also need to ensure that they agree to any conditions imposed by you before they would accept their vehicle back. You should make sure that any damage to their vehicle is listed - either on their side or on yours. For most cars it is unlikely that the vehicle will go past 14 months. Many dealers insist only being given a copy of the first breakdown policy the customer took out even though they purchased the car from the supplier after that. But some don't.
I would advise against returning the van as it doesn't give you much satisfaction and I think it sets a dangerous precedent. Car supermarkets are just businesses who claim a lot of money in warranty protection for little real value. The dealer can decide to accept the car back if the car doesn't suit you.
If the car is to small it's difficult for a dealer to repair if it happens.
Is Motorpoint warranty worth it?
We've seen many posts here about Motorpoint warranty. I am now going to tell you what is the warranty that I personally purchased in December and will share my experiences as to whether this warranty is worth it or not.
I had received my MOTORPOINT car with two years warranty and all. What exactly does warranty mean? After reading the sales documents, it seems that Motorpoint warranty is like new car warranty. In other words, I need to have the warranty card when I drive the car, else I will be fined. If the car gets broken or damaged due to someone else's mistake, then the damage will not be allowed to claim by Motorpoint. It seems that this is not the case in Motorpoint. The warranty of Motorpoint comes with some advantages as well as disadvantages.
What kind of advantage? I think Motorpoint warranty is very flexible. Once a claim has been submitted by a customer, Motorpoint will make an inspection in its own place, including the repair of the claim, and send the claim back. In this way, the motorpoint employee who inspected and repaired the claim will determine whether the claim should be accepted. If there are defects or problems in the vehicle, then a replacement vehicle will be provided to the customer. If the claims were repaired properly, then the repair price will be fully reimbursed by the company. What about the drawbacks? The drawback that I have found in Motorpoint warranty is that the claim submitted in an emergency (such as fire, flood, collision accident etc) is generally not accepted by Motorpoint. For example, if your car is broken in a road accident, then the first thing that you must do is to call 112 for emergency assistance. You may not know how the collision happened so that you can't describe clearly. If the car is still in a place where it cannot be recovered, then you have to provide all available details of the accident, such as photos of the vehicles at the accident site and the police report etc. Once this procedure is completed, then you can take the rest of the necessary actions. The car will be examined by the relevant Motorpoint representative. Once the claim is accepted, then you will be notified by the company. Motorpoint warranty will be responsible for the transportation fee. So, I think that after submitting a claim, the car owner should be patient.
What is the cooling off period for car supermarket?
Hi all. I'm going to be purchasing a car in a couple of weeks time. I have no idea where I'm buying it from but I've been given a quote by my friend who bought his car from a supermarket (not a dealer) about 2 years ago. I don't think he's had any issues but then I'm sure he didn't have a 6 litre engine! Anyway, I know the car is a bit old but it's not like I'm buying a brand new car. I think the price he quoted me was 1350 which would be quite good for the time but I'm wondering if there's anything I should be aware of before I buy it. Thanks.
I would not be too concerned about it, the only thing that might not be such a good thing is the servicing costs if they are charging you for the entire year of ownership, but I would assume they will include that in the price, they will also likely offer you a warranty on the engine. Thanks for the advice. I've just been looking at the car and I'm going to try and get it serviced as soon as possible.
They are really good with their vehicles and it's nice that they offer free service and maintenance for a year or so. If they were charging me for the year of ownership then I would be pretty concerned, but they've not mentioned anything about that.
The first few months are free. Then after a year it will cost 15.00 per month. After 3 years it will be 99.
I am not sure if you are buying a car from a dealership or a supermarket, but if it is the latter then it will be more expensive.
Do car dealers have to give 3 months warranty?
I got my car from car dealer, the dealer is authorized Mercedes Benz dealer. The car was in good condition when I bought. Now the dealer told me that there is a recall on this car and that they have to give me 3 months warranty instead of 12 month warranty. ?
The dealer can give whatever warranty they want. You will not have any claim if you are not given the warranty period.
Best wishes. Dave. Hi Dave, I have exactly the same situation. Mine was bought in July 2024 and according to my contract, I should be given 12 months warranty but the dealer has decided to change to 3 months. I have written them a letter explaining that I am covered by the 12 months warranty as per my contract but they just keep sending me letters with the new information.
I rang up the dealer who said that I have to give 3 months warranty. I asked them to send me a new contract with a 12 months warranty but they just keep telling me that they won't change it. I'm really stuck. I have already purchased some stuff (new radio, etc.) and have been going back and forth with the dealer for months.
I would appreciate any advice. I have already purchased some stuff (new radio, etc.
Cheers. Thanks! I have the same problem. My contract was originally set at 12 months warranty. They then changed it to 6 months. I didn't think anything of it, but now they have changed it to 3 months.
