21% of Brits 'plan to buy a car'
The recent research, conducted in the form of a survey, could correspond to 9.8 million possible car buyers, should the numbers be spread across the nation. In addition, 9% of the survey participants, which could conceivably relate to 4.3 million people, were hoping their planned car purchase in this six month period would be a new vehicle.
This number of potential car buyers has increased from six months ago, when a similar survey showed that 18% of Brits were planning on purchasing a vehicle in the upcoming months. These findings could propose that the automotive market is likely to see more activity during the rest of this year.
Gender-wise, of those surveyed, men were more likely to be planning on buying a vehicle in the next half-year, at 24% compared to 17% of women. The chances of men buying a new car were more than double those of women, with 13% of men wanting to buy a new car, compared with 6% of women. Men were also a lot more apt to get a loan to pay for their purchase.
