What are the top 5 biggest car dealers in the UK?
Where is a good place to buy used cars?
We are a family of 5 in the Seattle area who all have had used cars. One is old, and has gotten terrible mileage compared to the other 3, as far as the car goes. It runs fine, but it gets poor gas mileage. (around 24 mpg, sometimes less) This month it didn't get to go to the shop for an oil change and now I have a little over two quarts left in it and no gas in the tank, which makes a trip to the garage very difficult.
Right now the car is at a local garage who will either take it off our hands, or we can try to sell it, and we want to sell it for about what it would cost new to someone who would be willing to give it a chance. Where can we find these people? How long before they need maintenance or something? I just don't want to pay so much for a car that we've heard nothing but bad things about since it was bought. Any ideas on where we can find a buyer? And if anyone ever sells an old car for something near its purchase price then we would love to know the dealer. I'd love to sell mine, but that's an expensive hobby, especially when I'm only able to pay for parts because of work-related insurance. However, I'm thinking offering the trade service. The mechanic's fee covers anything I may find during maintenance, plus a little more than the repair cost of the parts, which probably won't amount to much.
So, what's out there? Here in Texas there's a great many of these "service packages". Basically they go through any/all of the required inspections and maintenance. There are no "fees" just the cost of the warranty.
When the package is completed the owner has 90 days to return the vehicle.
What are the top used car sites?
I'm looking to buy a used car this month. I'd like to get one that has no more than 60k miles on it. That's easy right?
Then I'll need to find out the current market value of the vehicle and the trade in value, etc. My question is how do you find out what is an excellent price for a used car if you don't know what cars are selling for? I've got two sites in mind right now. Edmunds.com and Cars.
Does anyone know of any others that could be used as well? I don't need an interactive tool to figure out the value of the vehicle because I can just use the Kelley Blue Book and they've done that for me. I just want to make sure I have the best value and the best deal before I commit to a purchase.
The answer depends on where you live. In some areas used vehicles are worth about the same as new vehicles, but not in others. Look at the local real estate market. If prices are down, it may be a good time to sell your vehicle. If prices are up, then you should look at cars.com and maybe also check out hud.com to see if any other cars are for sale in your area. Just be careful with hud.
As far as pricing vehicles. In many markets around the country the used car market has become oversupplied. So there are sellers who are "going for broke". When you find those willing to overpay, you will find them. This is why it is important to work with an independent used car sales rep. Otherwise the pricing from the dealer is a great indication of what others are offering for the vehicle.
There are plenty of other sites out there but again, you are really only interested in what the dealers are quoting on a used car. My friend works for Cars.com and he said they have a car pricing section on the site.
This is a new concept to me, but I think it might be useful. Here's the URL for it: . I think you might find the info you are looking for here.
If you're looking for cars priced at the MSRP, you won't find any info there.
What are the top 5 biggest car dealers in the UK?
So I am trying to create a list of the top 5 car dealers in the UK, this is what I have so far. I have done research on the top car dealers in the UK, and they are as follows: BAC
MOSS. MOTOR OVERSEAS. GOLF. ROSS. Is this the right order? Are there any other car dealers you think are bigger than these? Also would appreciate any help with improving this, thanks in advance. I hope that isn't going to be a huge list, if it is I don't think I can ever get through it. BAC GOLF. ROSS. MOSS. I think the list above is very good and accurate, but I can see room for improvement, I will list the points I think should be changed. The first point of the list should be replaced with ROSS, who have a larger dealership in Manchester. ROSS are located in the centre of Manchester, which is why they are more easily accessible. MOTOR OVERSEAS are also a dealership in Manchester, so I think MOTOR OVERSEAS should take over the second point of the list. MOTOR OVERSEAS has the largest dealership in the UK, and has an extensive range of cars. The list could be shortened by not including GOLF, they have a very small dealership in Newcastle, and only a few cars, so it doesn't make much sense to include them. The list could be shortened by not including MOSS, they only have a dealership in North Wales, and only a handful of cars. ROSS
MOTOR OVERSEAS. BAC
ROSS.
Which company sells the most used cars in the UK?
Ford is the most popular brand of car in the UK, but it has been overtaken by Toyota, according to a new report. The report said that 4.8million new cars were sold in the UK in 2024, and that Toyota and Ford made up more than 50 per cent of these sales.
Toyota increased its market share by almost 1.5million cars from 2024 to 2024, while Ford's market share dropped by 1.6million.
The report found that the average age of cars bought in the UK was 11.6 years, and that older vehicles were more likely to be sold in the country.
This is despite the fact that, in terms of life-expectancy, they are no longer expected to last as long as when they were bought. The report showed that the average car in the UK has covered about 17.5miles, with 13 per cent being driven less than 5,000miles and 8 per cent being driven more than 50,000 miles.
But most of these cars (65 per cent) have been driven fewer than 12,000 miles. Of those cars which have been driven more than 50,000 miles, just over half (54 per cent) have been driven fewer than 100,000 miles. While the report said that most cars had been driven for less than 12,000 miles, the average age of a car sold in the UK in 2024 was 11. A new report has shown that the average age of a car sold in the UK in 2024 was 11.6 years old, and that the oldest cars in the country were sold in 2024.
But of the cars which were bought in the UK, the report showed that the average mileage that the cars had been driven was only 12,500 miles. The figures were gathered by the AA, who also found that the average price of a used car sold in the UK in 2024 was 9,600. It also said that the number of miles a car has been driven before it was sold is usually just around 10,000 miles, with the most common number of miles being 5,000 miles. The AA said that it is the fifth year in a row that Ford has fallen out of the top five.
