What makes the Ram 1500 Limited special?
It's a long way down the list of reasons you might decide to buy a new car, but for most buyers, the Limited is the best-selling model in the lineup. Not because it is the most popular, or that it's cheaper, but because the Limited is, well, limited in its design and features. It's the only model to have no sunroof, no air conditioning, no navigation, no backup camera, no auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and no leather seating. As someone who loves the other Ram models, I didn't like the Limited the first few times I drove it. Now, I'm not sure it could be any better.
The Limited debuted at the 2026 Chicago Auto Show, then debuted as a real model on January 14, 2026. It was originally built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMi), which later joined a partnership with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to build the vehicles in Mexico.
When the 2016-model-year Ram 1500 appeared at the New York Auto Show in April, the Limited was unavailable in dealerships. For the second year, FCA made it available for test drives in April in the US, which proved to be popular. The Limited will return to dealers in late 2026.
We're getting closer to what some people consider the end of an era, as Dodge brand and Ram 1500 will be available in the US with a standard 10-speed automatic transmission for the 2026 model year. The first time that was the case was with the previous Ram 2500 pickup, which arrived in 2026. We are also looking forward to Ram pickup models with available all-wheel drive starting next year.
With the end of an era comes a new beginning, as this Ram 1500 Limited looks to change things. Changes are needed, as the regular pickup model has its own share of problems: big engines, big tires, and big trucks. So how did the Limited turn out, after more than a decade of being unavailable for US dealers to sell? This story explores everything the Ram Limited has to offer.
What is a Limited? As FCA and the Ram brand prepare to leave America, we get our last taste of the Limited, which has been the flagship model for seven years.
Which Ram 1500 to stay away from?
I am looking at buying a 2026 Ram 1500 4X4 with a 5.7L Cummins Diesel engine. I don't have any real budget, just looking for the most bang for the buck. I have been doing some research and it looks like a Cummins Dieseel might be the best choice for me. However, it looks like they are getting pretty scarce and hard to come by. That is what makes this topic so interesting to me. I am wanting to stay away from Ram as my truck will be mine and it is going to be my main source of transportation in the future. Also, I am wanting to go with the cheapest option possible. That is why I am not looking at the 2500HD or 3500HD trucks. I would be happy with a base trim (no VINs, etc) 4X4 3.73 gears, and a Cummins Dieseel 6 cyl Diesel.
The question I have for you all is which Ram 1500 should I stay away from? I am looking at the 2026, but that is probably too late. I have narrowed it down to the following models: 2026 Ram 1500 4X4 3.00 2026 Ram 1500 4X4 3.00 2026 Ram 1500 4X4 3.00 2026 Ram 1500 4X4 3.00 2026 Ram 1500 4X4 3.00 2026 Ram 1500 4X4 3.00 2026 Ram 1500 4X4 3.

Does the RAM Limited have leather seats?
The answer is, yes and no.
In the last few years, RAM has made a pretty big change in their lineup. They have also introduced a number of new features in their lineup. One of these new features is the leather seating. So, is the RAM Limited really leather limited?
The answer is, yes and no. Yes, it has leather seats. No, it isn't limited to leather seats. Let's take a look at all the details and see how it works.
RAM Limited - Does It Have Leather Seats? When you see the RAM Limited, you would think that it doesn't have any leather seats. But, in fact, it does have leather seats. The leather seats are quite sturdy and offer great comfort.
However, the leather is not all-encompassing. You won't get the traditional leather seats that would make it feel like you are driving a luxury car. In fact, they are a bit closer to the regular seats than they are to the full-leather seats.
It is interesting that there are two different types of seats on the RAM Limited. The regular seats are not leather. On the other hand, the leather seats are not traditional leather. They are a bit more like the seats you would find on a Range Rover or something similar.
RAM Limited - How Is It Built? The RAM Limited is built on the same platform as the SRT8 and the new SRT10. There isn't much difference between the two. Both have front and rear fascias, an engine hood, and a trunk. The only difference is that the SRT8 has a standard hood, while the SRT10 has a full-fledged one.
The RAM Limited comes with an electric power retractable hard top. The hard top is quite light and doesn't weigh as much as the hard tops on the SRT8 and the SRT10. This means that the car is able to move faster and offers better performance.
On the SRT8 and the SRT10, the hard top is powered by electric motors. These motors are much heavier and don't move as fast as the ones used on the RAM Limited. As a result, the RAM Limited has a decent open-top experience.
