Myself I'd look at price as the only real point, in that if you have enough money to buy a decent car then it is not worth worrying about what model it is or even the make of it. If you can't afford the car then it's down to practicality and what you are after in a car, what you like in a car, where you'll be driving it etc.

The other thing to consider is the age of the car and how it is being driven. I know that some second hand cars are very well maintained and there are many on here who have bought second hand cars and paid full price for them and they are a joy to drive. On the other hand there are others who have bought second hand cars and their life has been taken over by the car. I've seen this a few times and it can be a real shock to the system to buy a car, take it home and be faced with having to maintain it and keep it safe and be able to drive it in a condition where you can enjoy it, but still be safe and reliable.
