If you had gone in with a checkbook with you when you visited the dealership, the salesman should have taken you through a series of steps to establish your credit history. Once you have established that you are ready to buy the car, you are ready to buy. The dealership will require a personal check for deposit and will perform a credit check and an auto check on the vehicle.

You will need to provide three references for the check. The person who bought the last vehicle you purchased. A current employer who can be used as a proof of employment and salary. Your bank to verify your checking account balance. Once all is said and done, if the dealer will accept a pre-payment of the final cash amount due for the purchase of the car, you can close the deal right then and there. If not, you are free to leave the dealership and take your money back. The dealer cannot require a letter of intent to finance before they are willing to sell you the vehicle. This is due to the fact that we buy cars nationwide in all 50 states and most of the car-buying process is completed online. But we don't buy the car until you deliver the title (which includes paperwork stating you no longer own the car) or your keys. This is why payment may take up to three business days.
