Second hand cars at their lowest price in 15 months
Currently in the UK, the average price for a used car is £8,540. This price dropped by 1.71% in December 2012. However, this does not mean that you should expect this sort of price in every part of the UK. The cheapest region to buy a second hand car is in south west England, where the average for a used vehicle is £6,951. Further up the country, and we see the current highest average prices in north east England, at £10,805.
Prices have dropped in most regions of the UK over the last few months. Scotland has seen used car prices drop by 6.2%, south west England by 6.31%, and East Anglia by 5.31%. However, some regions have seen prices rise. The average price for a used car in the West Midlands have risen by 6.45% (to £8,087), north east England by 2.59%, and the East Midlands by 1.59%.
