Mazda 6 wins 'Best Upper Medium Car'
The Mazda6 emerged the victor in the face of competition from rivals the Ford Mondeo, Hyundai i40, Vauxhall Insignia and the Volkswagen Passat. Other Mazda6 models was also shortlisted in various other categories; the CX-5 in the 'Best Crossover' category, and the Tourer in the 'Best Estate' category.
The Mazda6 was extolled for it's use of ground-breaking technology, low CO2 emissions, equipment and drive quality. The Skyactive engine offers a high level of efficiency including a re-engineered drivetrain. This, coupled with usage of lightweight construction materials, gives a great drive quality with low emissions, without needing to fall back on smaller engine sizes.
The Mazda6 is currently available new from £19,595 to £28,045, with the 150px 2.2 litre Skyactive-D saloon diesel model having a fuel consumption of 67.3 miles per gallon, and 108g per kilometre of CO2 emissions.
