Tacoma in 2023 was a year full of the growth, prosperity, development, and progress we have come to expect from our great city. There was also some disappointments and a few things that stood out as great. So, I will go over my top 10 things about 2023 and how they were good for Tacoma. You will see that the top two items are both on the business front. I won't cover these two items individually because of the similarities. These are a list of things that were good for Tacoma in 2023.

Business. As you can see, I had a lot of good business events. I thought it would be appropriate to mention some of the bigger ones in the business sector. These included:

The Tacoma Economic Summit. The Tacoma Economic Summit was an event held at the convention center. This was an event where local and state leaders gathered to discuss the future of Tacoma and how to get a better economy. A few weeks before the Summit, there was an interactive meeting at Fife Elementary School where all of the economic developers on the project were brought together and worked together to talk about the future of our economy. This was a great opportunity to get these people together before the big event and start working on the future.

Eco-Waste Tacoma. Eco-Waste Tacoma was a program where volunteers collected recyclables, and other organic materials from businesses. They then donated it to a recycling plant or turned it into a compost. It was a great way to bring awareness to a community recycling program that we have. It also helped encourage more people to recycle and take advantage of the services we have to take care of our waste.

Tacoma Startup Week. Startup Week is a great idea and they do a great job of getting the word out. This weeklong event had a good turnout. This was a great way to celebrate and recognize Tacoma's startup scene. It is a great way to highlight the efforts that Tacoma has made to get a great startup culture and great startups.

Tacoma Business Development Conference. The Tacoma Business Development Conference was a two day event where a large number of businesses, investors, and community leaders came together to discuss how they could support each other.

Some of the tires you could find are: Michelin XDR or x2, Bridgestone Dueler, BBS Nexen ZR.17, Bridgestone Duratec HD, and BBS Nexen ZR.17X, Michelin X1

TACOMA exterior features. Exterior options for 2023 Tacoma are limited, but most will find the front end appealing, thanks to the larger radiator grille and front fog lights. The front lighting signature continues the GM tradition as well as giving new dimension to its look. On the back is the taillights also give a lot of character, especially when in conjunction with the new grille.

Well, to us it was 2023. We had a Toyota Tacoma for sale on Craigslist that was in the shop because the owner had a bad transmission. When we looked at it, we didn't see any problem but we have a mechanic who checks out our trucks before we buy them so we asked if there were any problems that we needed to know about. Well, there were no problems and it was a pretty good deal so we made an offer and he accepted it.

We took it to our mechanic and we had a look at the transmission fluid. There was a lot of old fluid in the bottom of the transmission, probably in a gallon or more. The mechanic said it might leak out of the transmission into the crankcase of the engine but he didn't think anything else should happen. We bought the truck and started driving it home on the way to our house we couldn't wait to get it home and drive it.

About a month later were leaving work and my wife said there was a little leak coming from the transmission. We took it to our mechanic and he didn't want to charge us for the trouble he said it's not leaking too much but we just have to check it out.

When we got to the shop the oil was completely gone. It was empty and there was no trace of fluid left on the floor. It was all over the engine, the transmission and there was a leak coming from the top of the radiator as well. The mechanic said he thought that somebody must have been using the engine and the oil leaked out. He cleaned up the mess and said it was very unlikely for anyone to have dropped the oil while he was working with the truck. He said he would be able to charge us a small fee because weren't his regular customer.

About a month later we got another email saying that he needed to come to the house. He told us that there was a huge spill of oil all over the driveway where the engine was sitting. He cleaned it up, but it still looked like a big mess. He said it was very unlikely for anybody to have dropped the oil but it was impossible to be sure. So the mechanic said he would charge us a few dollars to clean up the mess. He never called us back.

A few months later, we decided to bring it in to our mechanic for a regular checkup.
