Is the Tacoma just a HiLux?

2023 toyota tacoma 4x4 price usa Is the Tacoma just a HiLux?

I have a 2026 Tacoma with an XLS2 package. It's been a pretty good truck so far, but it has some issues. For one, it's not good in the snow or in the rain. The previous owner put snow tires on the truck, but I don't think they were ever rotated out. I just put some new tires on this spring, and even with the snow tires on, I still can't get the truck up on the plow.

I also have the 4.0, and I know that the newer engines have a better power output. I had an older 3.8 for my old truck, and it was much more powerful than my current engine. I think that the new engine is also making more noise. I know that the 6 speed does make more noise than the 5 speed, but I also thought that the 3.8 would make more noise than the 3.7. Does anyone know if there is any kind of noise reduction technology for the new engines? Is it possible that the 6 speed is quieter than the 5 speed? I'm just wondering if the Tacoma is just a HiLux. I know that I could get a newer model, but it seems like every time I go to a dealership, they want to talk me into a Jeep or a Ram, and I don't want to talk them into a Toyota.

Replies to This Discussion. I've always had a 5 speed because of the noise, but I don't know if I'd notice a difference between the 5 and 6 speed. I'm not really that familiar with the differences between the two transmissions. I do think that the 6 speed is quieter than the 5 speed, but not by much. The 6 speed is almost as quiet as the 4.8L V6.

This may be a stupid question, but the Tacoma has the same engine as the Tacoma TRD. Is there any difference between the two? The TRD is a little more powerful and has the bigger radiator, so I'm assuming it has more cooling capacity.

I know that the 4.0 is basically the same engine as the 4. I guess my question is: Does the 4.0 have the same horsepower as the 4. If it does, then why isn't it offered in the XLT? Also, does it make more power in the 5 speed?

Another dumb question.

How much is a brand new Toyota Tacoma 4x4?

(4wd)

Looking at the prices for new Toyotas I am pretty sure that I have never seen them as cheap as they are now. So it is really not a question of the price. It is more a question of how much do you really need?

Do you want a 4wd? Do you really need a 4wd? Do you just want to be able tow a boat with a trailer or two on a trip? Do you like to get to your favorite camping site in a bit less time? Do you like to be comfortable and enjoy a ride on your road trips? Do you like to drive off-road? I could not imagine buying a new Tacoma without a 4wd. But I would have to spend a lot of money to make it feel as good off-road as I do on the streets. I would think that if you go in the right direction with the amount of money you spend, you will still be well ahead of the game.

There is a great thread at work4tacomas.com about how to compare the prices of new Toyotas at different dealers. If you check the comments in that thread, you can also learn a lot about what to look for when shopping for a Tacoma and what kind of price you should expect to pay for it.

Tow4x4.com The following user says thank you tow4x4.com for this post: If you are comparing apples to apples, then there is no such thing as "a brand new Toyota" when it comes to 4-Wheel-Drive models. Each model is different from another. The V6 (4wd) is usually cheaper than the V8 (4wd). The 4WD has a much larger engine, transmission and drive shaft. This means that it is not exactly a matter of "price", since many of the same features are going to be in both.
