Car of the Year award given to SEAT Leon
The judges at Auto Express lauded the Leon's ample spacing, style, and it's overall quality, as well as the amount of equipment and kit available for the car. Auto Express's editors also praised it's economy and said it's 'bargain' price offered great value for money.
The SEAT Leon has shipped nearly 50,000 units of it's 5 door hatchback edition since launching in 1998, with a 3 door version introduced to the market in 2012, and a 5 door estate also introduced at the same time. SEAT are also extolling the virtues of their vehicle, naming the Leon as the best car they have ever produced, and that it is leading the way into the future for the company.
This is the first overall win for Spanish SEAT, but they are no stranger to awards. The Leon also won the title of Best compact Family Car in this year's awards, with the SEAT Alhambra winning the Best MPV award. This is the third year on the trot that the Alhambra has won this award.
The SEAT Leon SC was launched a couple of weeks ago as a three door hatchback, and certainly looks like one to watch. Packed with the latest technology and connectivity for all your wireless devices, with an attractive and streamlined frame, an estate edition is due to be introduced to the market soon.
