At Ferruccio Lamborghini's tractor factory, he and his workers built a modified 250gt which was reputably 16mph faster than the best Ferrari's of the mid 60's. With this success Ferruccio Lamborghini decided to start building his own cars. Hence Lamborghini was born and the rest as they say is history.

The company has over the years changed hands a number of times due to financial reasons, the current owner Audi Ag took over control in 1998 and has seen a number of releases since of course built in the way that only Lamborgini can.
