learn more about Mazda and the vehicles they produce
Mazda is one of the big Japanese manufacturers who can trace it's roots back to 1920, initially for producing machine tools. They moved to car production in 1931 when they launched their first car.
They are well known for there Wankel rotary engines which because of the unique way they work they have a power to weight ratio not seen in more conventional type engines. This has allowed the company to build a line of very light and powerful sports vehicles.
Although their cars have always been badged as Mazda the company wasn't called that until 1984, prior to this it's name was Toyo Cork Kogyo Co.
Today the company markets a range of modern and versatile cars which use more conventional engineering. As with many other Japanese car makers Mazda have a reputation for good customer service and reliability of their cars. Today 80% of their cars are still made in Japan with the rest being built in various places around the world.
