Isuzu have become one of the worlds biggest diesel engine manufacturers with it's engines being used in many vehicles around the world. The company which is based in Tokyo Japan is also the world's largest producer of medium to heavy duty trucks. Unlike many Asian car builders Isuzu can trace their roots back to 1916 where the company built ships.
In 1918 the company formed an alliance with Wolseley, the British car builder, which saw the first car being produced by Isuzu in 1922. Two years after this the company produced it's first truck. Success after success as seen the company grow to the huge organisation that it is today.
Although the companies main market was small to medium sized cars, market forces have taken the company in other directions over the years. With the recent down turn in the automobile market has seen the company stop selling it's range of cars from America although the dealers continue to supply parts. This change has not affected it's commercial vehicles or it's industrial engine operations.
